The chapel of Notre Dame du Haut by Le Corbusier is located in Ronchamp, in eastern France. It is singular in Corbusier's work in that it departs from his principles of standardisation and the machine aesthetic, giving in instead to a site specific response.
For Ronchamp, Le Corbusier adapted the simple geometric shapes from his earlier buildings to allow for more subtle and natural shapes, leading to it being described as the first Post-Modern building.
